HIGHLIGHTS

The Great Waterfall (Veliki Slap), at 78 meters in height, is the tallest waterfall in Croatia. It is formed by the Plitvice stream flowing dramatically down a steep cliff, while other smaller waterfalls emerge from the surrounding lakes. One of the largest and deepest bodies of water in Plitvice National Park is Kozjak Lake, which is known for its impressive size and depth.

Another notable feature is Prošćansko Lake, which is steeped in local legend. According to the tale, a terrible drought once struck the region, leaving the people desperate. They prayed to the Black Queen, who answered their pleas by sending a rainstorm that lasted for days, ultimately creating the lake. The Cave Outlook, another iconic spot in the park, is famous for its appearance in the film Winnetou, based on the works of Karl May.
