Šibenik, located about 85 km from Split, is the main town of the Šibenik-Knin County. Situated along the central Croatian Adriatic coast, it rests in a scenic, sheltered bay where the River Krka meets the Adriatic Sea.
As the oldest town on the Adriatic founded by Croatians, Šibenik is rich in history and culture. Its most renowned landmark is the Cathedral of St. James, a stunning example of 15th and 16th-century architecture in Croatia. Due to its exceptional significance, the cathedral has been included on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
